Is there another issue in the world where so much vtriolic comments san come out of the woodwork. Yes the Jews suffered but that oes not give Israelis liscence to maltreat others. And they are maltreating others. And they have to start stopping maltreating others or they will never know peace.

When I first saw this toon I thought that you were taking the wider view and including those citizens of Israel and Gaza who do not agree with aggression. Then I read the comments. All seem to refer either to two people, or to one side, but not to the people. “War is fun?” Really?
No, Dwayne – for people like the ineffable Messrs Natanyahu and Barak, war is fun – they get to bomb defenceless people in Gaza and at the same time put an end to any plans that other Bara(c)k might possibly have had (doubtful in the extreme, I know) for a miniscule reconciliation with Iran. And since US taxpayers are paying for this war – as they do for all of the Israeli regime’s wars – and they will probably be rewarded for their «heroic» efforts at the coming polls, what’s not to like ?…

This poem is bigoted, small-minded and downright divisive. The world is filled with legions of benevolent and conscientious Jews who don’t think they are better than everyone else (I’ve known many). Don’t generalize and make this about “the jews” when this is about an arrogant, right-wing government in Israel…with whom many disagree.
The state of Israel was formed on Palestinian land, taken at gun and bomb point. The people of Gaza and the West Bank are refugees from Palestine, while the rest fled to surrounding Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt. You would think certain people never experienced a Hashoah the way they set themselves up in the region. I am appalled with what Elie Wiesel (whom we read in High School, constantly hammered on the head about Jewish suffering, but NEVER did they mention what the state of Israel did/does to others) wrote according to Chomsky in his book, Fateful Triangle–words to the effect that Israel is beyond reproach no matter what they do. Even Pacifist Jews in Israel refuse to concede this land is not theirs and they must leave unless given permission by Palestinians. Chomsky et al have been writing for years about the injustice and Israeli aggression has grown worse.
