On Contact with Chris Hedges

Here’s a conversation I had with Chris Hedges on his show On Contact in mid-December 2016, back before Trump was sworn in and made me eat all my words by making America great again.  Please take note of the monogram shirt that I’m wearing, borrowed from my big brother because I only have one dress shirt and when I pulled it out of the closet the day before the interview it looked like I’d used it to rescue a litter of freshly born raccoons from a chimney.  I love how watching me gesture wildly about the evils of corporations and authoritarian warlords and rich assholes in a monogrammed shirt makes me look a little like Thurston Howell preaching the virtues of Marx to Lovey’s bridge club at the Soho House.  Dig it (comrades).

  1. Isn’t it a curious thing that an important public intellectual like Chris Hedges finds himself sponsored by RT? He should be a permanent fixture in the US mainstream media however as we know, he doesn’t honk like all the other geese and so is marginalized.

Great interview! In a sane society you would be thanked for YOUR service.

  2. I totally agree with this comment, posted to the video.

Mr. Fish is the most important cartoonist alive.

  3. «… I only have one dress shirt and when I pulled it out of the closet the day before the interview it looked like I’d used it to rescue a litter of freshly born raccoons from a chimney.» Can we get a cartoon featuring that shirt, Dwayne – I’d really love to see it !…
