  1. Sometimes, very, very rarely, truth wins. Hurrah, Assange!

  2. Assange is such an amazing person. I only wish there were protections for truth tellers and the best of journalists in this future of ours. I mean, even if were partial, so that there was not such an imbalance and such limitations on checking power. I fear that is going away. The truth-tellers are being hunted to extinction.

And what will remain? What will come of those who would point us toward some reflection and educating others? What comes of a society of adults that tells their children and youth:

“Be careful what you say. Take care what you care about. Look over here, a way out, a path to serve power. Go get it while the pay is good, while you can eek out a life. Enjoy it even, if you fortunate. Get as rich as you can, to find safety, so you can have work, so you can have income, so you can have food, clothing, shelter and health care. So you can tell your children the same and save them as well. Because there is no value as great as surviving.”

What comes of us all if that becomes everything there is? What comes of us all if objecting is marginalized or criminalized?
