Gerard: “The war is awful AS, and I’d like to see a 2 state solution and return of the hostages to Israel, in exchange for the Palestinian prisoners, and the talks to continue on security for Israel, and general civil society in the region where 20 million Jews, descendants of the 6 million Holocaust victims of WW2 Germany, live in peace, not continually threatened with annihilation on all sides from Jihadists and sympathizers the world over, like a billion Muslims in fact, where many would not mind too much if Israel is crushed back to pre-Zion misery. I agree AS, the situation is awful, as are all wars with parties having incompatible aims. Crimes are being committed against Palestinians, I don’t disagree. Could outsiders, like ourselves, bring about peace, forcing both sides, the Israelis, and the Muslim majority of the region, to make concessions, and give protection? Could we, those gifted with peace, bring about concessions by both side and give security and lasting peace in the region? It of course won’t be easy, because Netanyahu will likely face prison if he is not in power, and peace will mean that Netanyahu will be on trial, and so he is not incentivized to agree to peace. But he is only one person. The Jews are in the many millions, and most, like most Muslims, are not inclined to walk away from real lasting peace, so they can raise families and give their children good futures, and live in harmony with others. What do you think?”

Israel gives Palestinians a choice, apartheid or ethnic cleansing. “Hamas” is just an excuse. The struggle is between the colonizer and the occupied, the latter who is allowed to resist. This conflict has nothing to do with Hamas or religion, it is about taking land and exterminating the indigenous populace.
