Even after the lies to war in Iraq and the Abu Ghraib prison travesties, the evangelicals put Bush back in the presidency since he merely said that Jesus Christ was his hero. Pence, being much more attached to the same now heretical bunch now supporting Trump, I fear the same scenario in 2020 with Pence.
Do not underestimate the power of rual Evangelical pulpits.
Pence needs to be removed also.

America is an empty form not deserving respect and worship.
Trump and Obama demonstrate this.
Americans are victims of Stockholm Syndrome, always worrying about what is best for those who hold them captive and in disdain.

Trumps conflicts. Now there’s an oxymoron for ya! Emphasis on moron. I can only hope that his “conflicts” would end up in a fist fight for daring to question the best President EVER?

Trump merely manifests the problems in this country he is not the problem the problem is 40 percent of this country blindly support this fucking idiot. Where does this blind support come from? He should be removed from office because he has NO respect for the law, the constitution or anything or anyone and is making a mockery of this country. Would Pence be better? – The devil himself could not be much worse.

Dwayne, what happens to the United States (which you call «America») – and the rest of the world which it affects so strongly – when and if Mr Trump is removed ? Will things be better under Michael Richard Pence, under the careful supervision of the heads of such agencies as the FBI, the CIA, and the NSA, etc, etc ? No doubt Mr Trump is a problem – but defining him as the problem and removing him from the office of president of the United States as the solution is, to my mind, to gravely misunderstand the nature of the situation….
You’re over-reading the cartoon, Henri. All of my commentary regarding power echoes your point exactly. I’m well aware that power is manifest in non-governmental institutions well beyond the reach of our electoral system here in the States. That said, recognizing how Trump’s personal psychosis has accelerated the decay of the republic is useful, particularly for those most victimized by his policies (women, blacks, immigrants, environmentalists, scientists, civil rights lawyers, pacifists, etc.), particularly because it is important to pay attention to the specific details that define our battles against fascism to better understand the overall war.

Thanks for your reply, Dwayne ; when there’s so much emphasis on Mr Trump’s doings and tweetings, it’s easy to get the impression that everybody believes him to be the sole problem, while not recognising that many – not all – his opponents, not least in the (un)intelligence agencies, constitute as least as great a problem. Allowing them to determine – or at least to have a veto over – who occupies that office would hardly lead to better political outcomes for the USA and the world as a whole than Mr Trump’s antics ; at least, Mr Trump can be removed, but the deep state abides….
Due to the position in which he finds himself – or rather in which we, both in the US and the rest of the world find him – Mr Trump cannot be ignored ; but as a glance at the US foreign policy of forever wars under his predecessors suffices to demonstrate, it’s not there the shoe pinches….

if Trump is convicted in the Senate, it will mean an existential crisis has ripped the GOP apart. and there’s no way Pence would win the next election anyway. so all good news there.
