I am the Polish physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit, of the city of Gdansk, a German speaking region of the who was born in the year of 1686 in the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth. I have come back from the dead to speak to you about your science work, which has both impresed and depresed me.
But since you cut of posts that are longer than 300 words, I will keep comments brief, and because English is the crude language , only derived recently from Mother German.
United States is most powerful empire in the world now, and has been since 1945, which I’m sure you aware, and which seems to motivate some of your vile language and shock’in thoughts and artwork. You regard US violance, domestic and international to be wrong. But you are the wrong. Who is to say to the hand, why are you the hand? Who is to left hand as to right, and vice verse?
Now, here be it. I say it finally. You must stop all attempts to work in science, because you are now working somewhat universally and globally, and embracing ideas that I did not improve.
For one, Fahrenheit is still the temperature scale used in the countries of the USA, Burma and Liberia. All the lesser countries are using the far infurious system of C, and only a few use Kelvin scale, those bastards of temperature physics and tolkomacs (spelling??). If this can be, how can it not be the greatest scale?
Please ceast and desist your science. After all, I’m a ghost, and I will haunt you.
I’m am also proud of your boys in the US, and I wish them luck in election.
Your is True,
Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit

The American right has swung so far to the Evangelical base and White Nationalism, the only way to disguise the word “science” is to call it a divine intervention with clear overtones that the rapture is just around the corner. Maybe somebody could find the equation under a rock in the desert and all will be well.
What’s so funny ‘bout peace love and understanding?

I love this. It’s like a hundred blackboards I’ve seen in life, all blended into one. And the punchline is so great. That is hilarious.
You know, the fight over rational thinking is being waged right in front of us. This is what Galileo had to deal with, Copernicus, others. It’s related to the church, that doesn’t want to lose its power with “progress” (or perhaps a better word is transformation) unrelentingly moving forward.
It’s related to the divide and inequality, and education gap in America. It’s related to winning and losing in the economic battle, and how the professional urban class is leaving behind the rural and suburban working class, who tie themselves to the church.
The disenfranchised minority racial groups and immigrant groups seem to have the special place of not being included in either group, which is a twist. It will be interesting to see how that works out in the US and to what extent the Democratic Party remakes itself to be fully inclusive, in policy as well as word.
But Science is in the crosshairs of the American right, and they appear to winning on some fronts, including with the appointments to the Supreme Court, the capture of the American Republican party, and in other ways. One has to wonder if we will have storm troopers soon, and the cross appearing on the American flag also. Heavy handed religious fascist bullshit.
I’m going with Science. Yeah, if we didn’t have it, the planet would not be in such bad shape perhaps and we get terrible things like climate change and potential for nuclear annihilation, as discoveries lead to monstrous machinations of the powerful corporations and elites. But it beats being a backward person, or having to deal with an evangelist asking something like “Have you thought about what will happen when you die?”, people who then go out and campaign for Trump. And you think to yourself, “What did that monkey say? I don’t want to be left out of the fold!”
Bring on the next discovery. Let’s have it. Rationality Day should be a national holiday, and we can make it a No Work, Only Voting Day too with universal automatic voting for all.
