  1. Wow – pretty cynical. Can’t you be more like the cartoonists of my youth – Mort Walker, Charles Schulz, or Dik Browne? Now THOSE guys made me laugh 🙂

  2. Night of the Living Sheep

  3. beautifully worded, Fish.
My thought are that it’s not the “people’s” fault. Yeah, 90% or whatever of people are as described. That’s the way it’s always been. It’s just now, the oligarchs have used the new tools far to their advantage in the game of us and them. It is the artistic/intellectual leaders that need to work harder and take more risks — like Fish.

The game has changed. The religious/business elements coming together — they have used the new tools (got your phone connected to an online contacts, bookmarks? all that data is theirs) to scope the path the sheeple head down. As said by koz, people change one at a time, experience by experience. Like it or not, but in order to combat this socio-genetic experiment. the leaders of the movements here need be much more engaged and step up; to facilitate that evolution.

but dudes…romney wins and my head will never stop spinning. i just can’t believe that so many people see this guy and go “yup. that’s my guy.” lots of people! if that is true (which i don’t — i think obama will win easily) but if its true and so many do vote for him — people like us will have to go in hiding.

  4. I too am compelled to offer a defense of “the masses” here.
The powerstructure is pernicious as it thrives upon a subtlety of immersion and inertia characteristic of unwieldy immensity.

Gains however small were made in resisting Banks rolling out a $5/mo. fee for use of debit cards. The costs are surely to be passed along by other mechanisms: elevating required minimum balances and overdraft fees, and further duties upon the impoverished using prepaid debit cards. Nonetheless, an instance of a policy adjustment borne of spontaneous public assembly.

Seems inevitable that oppurtunities emerge with future generations unfamiliar with the scale of limitations we’ve tolerated as in the tyranny of single option elections.

  5. Neither sheep nor people (not even in their USA-incarnations) are necessarily «stupid», but they, as we see time and time again, can relatively easily be moved to act against their own interests. Is there any hope for either of these two flock mammals ?…

  6. I’m guilty as charged… Though I do think that awakening happens one goober at a time, or not at all. De-evolution of the species is a slow process that seems to be rapidly accelerating as we near the end.
