  1. «… most world citizens and their governments take the side of the US Government and give full support to programs like Prism.» The above statement is true if one removes the noun phrase «most world citizens» – there is no evidence whatever that suggests that most world citizens support this degree of government surveillance over their daily lives. Rather, the lack of major uproars indicates how little political power citizens possess and how disillusioned they are about their governments, «democratic» and otherwise (it also indicates the success of the Edward Louis Bernays epignoi in distracting the public)….

The disgraceful hypocrisy of European governments – on the one hand, the public protests over the US/UK spying (which can only be interpreted as a sop to public opinion), on the other the blocking of the flight of the Bolivian presidential plane (which confirms their complicity in the spying regime and their fear of further revelations by Mr Snowden) is apparent to all who have eyes to see. But let us hope that more little brothers will exhibit the extraordinary courage shown by Mr Snowden and come forward to tell us more about what Big Brother is up to….

  2. The European states’ action against the Bolvian plane is really interesting when it was thought Snowden was onboard. Despite Snowden’s revelations, most world citizens and their governments take the side of the US Government and give full support to programs like Prism. If this was not the case, asylum would easily be granted to Mr. Snowden. Those states who denied Snowden asylum would have a popular uproar. There is a kind of tacit approval of extradition for Snowden going on. Same with most US citizens, they are for the programs Snowden warns about. Unfortunately, Mr. Fish’s viewpoint here is in the minority.
